Musve is a free, local Chrome extension that masks your sensitive data — IDs, emails, phones, cards, secrets — before it ever leaves your browser for ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini.
When you paste something into an AI, you're trusting far more than a chatbot. Your words can travel on to other tools and systems working behind it, get used in ways you never meant — and there's no undo. You can't really know where your data ends up.
So the safest move is simple: don't let the sensitive parts leave at all.
Your data doesn't stop at the chat — and there's no way to see, or undo, where it goes next.

No cloud accounts, no API keys, no complex setup. Just add to Chrome and type normally.
The masking happens right on your machine — your unmasked data never touches our servers. When the AI replies, Musve swaps your real details back in your browser, so the answer looks completely normal. You can see everything that was masked anytime in the Musve panel.
You don't have to do anything — Musve works quietly in the background of ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. And you're in control: turn masking on or off for any type of data you don't want hidden, right from the options.

Email, mobile & landline, international phone.
Israeli ID, passport, US SSN, UK NI.
Credit cards, IBAN, SWIFT/BIC, company & VAT, CVV, expiry.
Passwords & API keys for 50+ services.
Ethereum and Bitcoin addresses.
IPv4, IPv6, and MAC addresses.
Israeli vehicle plates and driver's license numbers.
Dates of birth and other sensitive dates — masked only when labeled, so everyday dates stay.
Auto-detects titled names and anchored addresses (Beta), plus add your own names, terms or addresses in the panel.
New patterns added regularly.
Musve only masks what it's sure about — so your prompts keep working.
Emails, phone numbers, credit cards, IDs and API keys follow a fixed format, so Musve spots them by their pattern (regex) and verifies them with a math check (checksum) where possible. A number that only looks like a credit card is left untouched.
Ambiguous values like a CVV or a date are masked only when a matching word sits right beside them. An everyday "let's meet on 3/15" is never touched.
Free text has no fixed shape. Musve catches the clear cases — a title (Dr., מר) marks a name, an anchor word (Street, רחוב) marks an address — and is honest that it can't yet catch them all. Free-form names and addresses aren't all caught yet — still in Beta.

Not yet — Musve is a browser extension, so it works on the web versions in Chrome and Edge. Desktop apps are on our roadmap.
Not yet. Right now Musve masks the text you type or paste — it doesn't cover files, images, or audio. That's exactly what we're working on next.
Not yet. Musve does general-purpose masking — contact details, IDs, financial data, secrets and the like. It doesn't yet have dedicated medical or legal masking tuned to those fields; it's on the roadmap.
Just refresh the tab (F5) and it comes back. Extensions also don't load into tabs that were already open before you installed — so refresh those too.
Yes. Musve swaps your sensitive details for neutral placeholders the AI can still reason about, then puts your real details back into the reply — right in your browser. You read a normal answer; the AI's servers only ever saw the placeholders.
Hebrew and English today, with detection tuned for Israeli formats (IDs, phones, addresses). More languages and regions are coming.
100% local — your unmasked data never leaves your browser, and the extension has no login. The email you enter on the site is only so we can send you the link and updates — it's not an account.
Yes! Click the extension icon and scroll down. You'll find 5 slots to add your specific address and custom names/terms you want hidden.
You're in control. Open the Musve panel to see everything that was masked, and switch off any category you don't want hidden. Your prompt keeps working either way.
Musve catches the most common sensitive data — but no tool catches everything, and we'd rather be upfront.
Anything you already masked stays masked — the key that restores your originals is kept only on your device, so it's removed together with the extension.
